Conceptual Project
Intivra is a revolutionary approach to menstrual management: a portable, sensor embedded "heatless" heating pad and health monitor. It provides safe, gentle relief for period pain of varying severity while tracking the user’s menstrual health. Its name reflects its mission of delivering internal warmth, clarity, and comfort without external heat exposure.
A Fresh Perspective on Menstrual Care
Intivra bridges the gap between effective pain relief and comprehensive menstrual health support. Traditional heating pads often cause discomfort or burns, while period-tracking apps rely on generic data and user input. Intivra offers a user-friendly design tailored for women of all ages, providing safe, internal relief for menstrual pain and personalized health scans when needed. Conceptualized to fill a crucial gap, Intivra ensures practicality and personalization in one innovative solution.
Balancing Innovation and Practicality
Initially, I struggled to create something unique, discovering many similar products already existed, though none felt fully satisfying. By focusing on creating an all-encompassing solution for women experiencing periods, I envisioned an app and product that felt both realistic and slightly fantastical. The design is simple, personalized, and welcoming, with a warm colour palette and an intuitive interface. Users can easily access essential features, track their cycle, and monitor their health without unnecessary information or distractions.

A Product-Integrated App
I’m pleased with the overall look of the app, though I see room for improvement. If I were to revisit this, I’d focus on fully developing the product and app details before moving into the ideation phase for a clearer direction. This project taught me how designing an app integrated with a product requires a different approach than designing an app independently, highlighting the need for more thoughtful planning.
