Pure Shimmer is a small exterior cleaning business my brother, Jonathan Bell created. When he establishes the company and begins work, he intends to primarily use pressure washing to clean gutters, driveways, and exterior walls.
Building a Unique Brand Identity
This project aimed to establish a distinct and memorable brand identity for an exterior cleaning company primarily focused on pressure washing for a small business owner. By analyzing competitors in the Ottawa region, I identified key visual elements that resonate with the target audience and developed a cohesive brand design. The branding needed to appeal to busy, hardworking homeowners, emphasizing trust, cleanliness, and convenience through calming blue tones and imagery of houses and power washing equipment.
A Thoughtful and Collaborative Process
I began by discussing the visual goals and desired perception with my client. After researching the exterior cleaning industry and analyzing competitors, I developed a design brief to guide the project. Brainstorming followed, exploring clever ways to integrate the brand imagery into the logo. Through several rounds of logo sketches and refinements, I produced two strong concepts, providing brand guides that showcased logos, colour palettes, fonts, and applications for the final decision.
Collective Success and a Satisfying Outcome
I thoroughly enjoyed working with my client to bring his vision to life. The final result, which aligned with both of our expectations, was something I was particularly proud of. With two strong concepts, the client chose my personal favourite. His involvement throughout the process led to a result we were both pleased with. This experience reinforced the value of in-depth collaboration and market research in creating a strong visual identity.
